My trip to Singapore, China and Malaysia
From the 29th of December 2003 to the 14th of January 2004
Those are countries I always wanted to visit , but never imagined that one day I will visit the three countries Singapore, China and Malaysia in one single shot.
While I am taking you along this marvelous trip, please count the number of planes take off's and landings that occurred.
Of course we started from old dear Cairo , first landing was in Dubai airport , then another take off to Singapore .
Singapore is a state city, which means that it is the capital, and the state at the same time, its the city of that fabulous animal half lion half fish,
Singapore is one concentrate of China, India, and Malaysia, with their languages, their customs, their colors, their cults, and finally their countless feasts.
The name Singapore is composed of two parts ...Singa - Pore
Singa means the Lion , and Pore means the city.
As you can see the symbol of Singapore is that lion with the tale of a fish.
In this picture you can also see the Singapore Opera house. It is that building with the dome shaped roof
Normally you build a city then you plant the gardens. .
I discovered in Singapore that it is the other way round, its a huge garden, in which they built a modern city .
While you are driving in this city it is as if you were driving inside a beautiful garden.
High rise buildings exists inside beautiful gardens
This is the front of a hotel you can see the trees, and the plants and the flowers everywhere , mind you their president is not passing .
Everywhere you find all sorts of Orchids, Even inside the buildings ,
Later you will see Orchids even inside the Singapore Airport.
Orchid is the second symbol of Singapore, it is printed all over their currency
This beautiful plants, flowers and trees arrangements are all placed inside the Singapore Airport , with all sorts of orchids. I think you have to see it to believe it.
Look at that, I am empathizing the existence of plants because it is really incredible , look at the side walks , they are all full of plants and flowers .
We went sailing on a boat, that boat took us to a cruise on the open sea.
This is the boat it is built and designed with a Chinese style, that made the cruise more pleasant .
Going out to the open sea heading for an island few kilometers off the mainland.
(Right) Below is the small port of the island we reached
(Below ) From that island far at the horizon you can see the mainland Singapore Through the beautiful exotic palm trees.
Right is modern Singapore with its sky scrapers.
We used the underground metro to circulate the city .
Here we are in an underground station, see how clean and neat. It is very safe in the stations, because over the rails pit on the right of the picture they built metal and glass doors that open automatically with the metro car doors .
In the evening we had dinneron the side of the Singapore river
This is the Singapore river
(Left ) The building with the flag at the right, is a very old hotel called ( Fullerton Hotel). At the left you see the Asian Civilization Museum and the city hall , we have visited and enjoyed very much all of the Asian Arts that the museum comprises the artifacts are from all the countries , China, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia , and India .
This is the beginning of a very long alley on the river they call the boat quay, where you can find and chose one of many restaurants, you can sit directly on the river .
The city was all decorated for the new year .
Everywhere balloons and flowers and all sorts of colors
While we where looking for a good restaurant on the boat quay , we met with these beautiful girls that invited us to their restaurant .
Too bad
I did not use the flash , the girls were dancing and moving as you can
see.
This is a general view of the restaurants and the boat quay on the river by night.
(Look below )
That evening was the new year's eve, it was the 31st of December 2003.
The city was all decorated like a huge Xmas tree , everywhere there were colorful lights , and people were having fun just by walking the streets .
On that new years evening we left Singapore
to go to China , so HAPPY NEW YEAR
!!!
